Study on exercise and cognition This study involves three tasting visits (60-75 minutes each) in the testing space.Cognitive domain of learning between those visits, participants will taste and rinse with a colored, bitter-flavored solution four times per day for a total of four weeks.Cognitive domain of learning participants will need to pick up the solutions daily and upload pictures of their tongue, which will be slightly colored by the food coloring in the solution.Cognitive domain of learning The purdue applied cognition lab is looking for volunteers for a psychology study on practice and learning. Men and women ages 18-30 who have normal or corrected-to-normal vision and are native english speakers may be eligible to participate.Cognitive domain of learning participants will be asked to complete various computerized memory and attention tasks, responding to information presented visually onscreen and using the computer keyboard or mouse to make responses.Cognitive domain of learning The study involves 17 visits to the lab over the course of four weeks. The first and last session will last no more than three hours, and participants will be compensated $20 after each of these sessions.Cognitive domain of learning in addition, each of the 15 sessions between the first and last session will last no more than 60 minutes, and participants will be compensated with $10 after each of these sessions.Cognitive domain of learning participants also may earn bonus compensation depending on their performance in each of the 15 sessions (up to $5 additional each session) and completion of all sessions within four weeks ($5 bonus).Cognitive domain of learning all participants who complete the study will be compensated with a minimum of $190. Children will be asked to attend up to three sessions, each lasting one to one and half hours. During these sessions, researchers will test the child’s hearing, speech and language skills. The child also will be asked to listen to some words or sounds, and look at pictures on a monitor while researchers record their brain waves (EEG) with an elastic cap. Children will receive $10 per hour and will get to pick a prize after each session, and parents will receive $10 per session to reimburse for expenses.Cognitive domain of learning parents also will receive a written report based on their child’s speech and language testing. Researchers are looking for child welfare caseworkers employed in central indiana for a research study on caseworker perceptions of working with foster parents and foster children.Cognitive domain of learning the goal of the study is to understand caseworkers’ perceptions of behavioral and emotional adjustment for children in foster care who have regular contact with biological parents, as well as caseworker experiences working with foster parents on issues related to parent-child contact/visitation.Cognitive domain of learning Researchers are looking for currently licensed foster parents in central indiana for a research study on foster parent perceptions of parent-child interactions for children in foster care ages 3-9 years of age.Cognitive domain of learning the goal of the study is to understand foster parents’ perceptions of behavioral and emotional adjustment for young children in foster care who have regular contact with biological parents.Cognitive domain of learning Participants in this study must (1) be currently licensed foster parents in the state of indiana, (2) reside in greater lafayette, (3) be the current non-relative foster caregiver for a foster child ages 3-9 who regularly has contact with a biological parent, and who will remain in the current foster placement for at least three weeks after the start of data collection.Cognitive domain of learning Participants will complete two sessions. The first session will take about 40 minutes and will include online surveys, a prerequisite knowledge check, and a math test.Cognitive domain of learning one week later, participants will attend the second session, lasting approximately 10 minutes, for a knowledge check and math test. Participants will receive $16 for completion of both sessions.Cognitive domain of learning Participants will be asked to swallow small amounts of barium (used as a contrast) and glide their voice on vowels like this /ee/. They will be trained for both of these tasks.Cognitive domain of learning the barium will be used to visualize the swallow on a real-time X-ray, which is similar to common procedures like a chest X-ray. The study is approximately two and a half hours, and eligible participants will receive $20.Cognitive domain of learning The aphasia research laboratory is currently recruiting persons with aphasia following a stroke who have no history of other neurological diseases and are native speakers of english. The study will take one to eight sessions, and each session will take approximately two hours.
